When you qualify for Medicare because you turn 65, or are under 65 with certain disabilities, you will have an initial enrollment period and opportunities each year to make changes to your coverage. Medicare Annual Election Period

|The first day of AEP. You can now make changes to your Medicare health coverage for 2021.||The last day during AEP to make changes to your Medicare coverage for 2021||If you enroll in a different Medicare plan during AEP, your new coverage will go into effect on January 1, 2021|
During this period you can:
- Switch from one Medicare Advantage plan to another Medicare Advantage plan
- Switch from one Medicare Prescription Drug Plan (PDP) to another PDP
- Drop Original Medicare and enroll in a Medicare Advantage Plan
- Drop Medicare Advantage plan and return to Original Medicare
